The debut album ‘Love and Lomography’ by fast-rising young troubadour Nick Raven evokes a sun-soaked, psychedelic fantasia. Nick Raven is a young up-and-comer (19) who has been receiving lots of great coverage and reviews. He’s also just been signed by U.S. label Custom Made Music. He’s played the bFM Breakfast Club, the Roundhead Studio Sessions, a couple of Kiwi FM live to airs, and his song ‘Butterfly High (But I Fly So High)’ reached #2 on the bFM Top Ten.
Nick Raven is only 19 and his name may be relatively new but he already has quite a track record, starting with his school band Razor Fox picking up the Schick Style Award at the national finals of the 2010 Smokefree Rockquest. Raven then branched out on his own, touring the North Island, playing bFM’s Freak the Sheep Christmas Special alongside Goodshirt and Julia Deans, releasing a video (‘Kiss Me’) which played on Juice and C4, and winning a recording grant from Zeal West which resulted in the EP Happy You Hippie Me.
